Was born in Valga, Estonia. In the years 1945-1951
studied in the Tallinn National Institution of Applied Art.
Has worked as decorator of the Draamateater (Drama Theatre),
artistic manager of the Factory of Art Products, chief modeller of
the Kommunaar Shoe Factory, head decorator of Tallinna Kaubamaja,
lecturer of the Tallinn Technical School of Light Industry.
His more remarkable activity was carried out since 1972
as a realization-artist in the ARS Art Factory and later
as head designer in the joint-stock company ARS-SEPP.
He was one of the initiators of the cultivation of ironwork and metal
cast in ARS. He has accomplished technical and artistic mastery in
iron processing; vigorous expression is his characteristic. Has created
necessities and decorative items and monumental ironwork (the ceiling
chandelier of the Pärnamäe crematory,
1988; the gates of the Toompea Castle, 1992).
A member of the Estonian Artists' Association since 1969. |
